Prepare Yourself for The Force Awakens by Watching All Six Star Wars Movies at Once

“This is getting out of hand—now there are seven of them.”

Still from the video

As the arrival of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, the seventh installment in George Lucas’ epic postmodern saga, draws ever closer, the Star Wars illiterate among us undoubtedly feel increasingly helpless. Perhaps they have never seen a Star Wars film. Perhaps Han Solo’s swashbuckling goofball nature is alien to them. Perhaps they believe Jar Jar Binks to be a type of urn. Perhaps the blare of brass trumpets does not induce a wave of nostalgia so intense it brings tears to their eyes.

But there is hope for them yet in the form of YouTub user Michael McNulty’s video of all six Star Wars films playing at exactly the same time. Sure, hearing all six theme songs simultaneously is physically painful (they’re not exactly in sync), and good luck understanding that whole dialogue thing, but the split screen makes it theoretically possible to watch every second of every movie in a mere two hours. Sit back, relax, and prepare to become an expert—just in time for Dec. 18.
