Watch Tom Hiddleston Do His Best Hank Williams Impression in the First Trailer for I Saw the Light

Director Marc Abraham’s latest film follows the meteoric rise and tragic fall of Hank Williams, the enormously influential country-western singer who gave us such enduring classics as “Hey Good Lookin’,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” and “I Saw the Light,” from which the movie takes its name. The story captured by the movie’s trailer is familiar biopic fare: A talented but troubled artist’s life slowly unravels as his fame skyrockets. (Williams died of heart failure in 1953 at the age of 29 after a history of drug and alcohol abuse.) But it looks like English-born Tom Hiddleston delivers a typically compelling performance as Williams, even if Hank Williams’ grandson thinks an American should have gotten the role. The movie hits theaters March 25, 2016.
