Ever since the first trailer, in which his face is the first we see, Finn (John Boyega) has been the focus of a lot of Star Wars fans’ attention. He first appeared panting in a Stormtrooper uniform, which inspired curiosity. Since then, fans have deduced that he’s probably a Stormtrooper who deserted, but he’s remained relatively mysterious. So perhaps it’s only fitting that he opens the movie’s latest TV spot by saying, “You don’t know a thing about me—what I’ve seen.”
In the new teaser, Finn says, “We all need to run.” But of course, this is Star Wars, and from what we’ve seen in this TV spot and other trailers, everyone’s sticking around to fight—Finn included. Han Solo and Chewbacca show up to ask Finn, “Are you sure you’re up for this?” Finn might reply with “Hell no,” but since we see him facing off against a Stormtrooper, lightsaber in hand, it seems safe to say he has a change of heart.
