Kurt Cobain’s Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings Is Now Available to Stream
Surrounding the release of Brett Morgen’s Montage of Heck, a few rare, previously unreleased demos and home recordings have hit the Internet. Some of these have surfaced through leaks, while others have been shared through more official channels, as happened with an early version of “Sappy” and Cobain’s cover of The Beatles’ “And I Love Her.” Morgen had a mountain of material to work with for the documentary, and now several demos and home recordings have been released as a Kurt Cobain solo album, Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings.
The doc itself sparked some fans to debate whether the late legend would have wanted any of this, but hardcore fans will inevitably be interested in the glimpses these intimate recordings offer into Cobain’s mind and songwriting process. Both the 13-track version of the album and the 31-track deluxe version are available to stream via Spotify below.
