Even the most spirited Halloween enthusiasts may find themselves forlorn at the realization that they are too old to trick-or-treat. Fortunately Adele, queen of forlorn ballads, just came out with her latest sob song, “Hello.” So James Corden made a seasonally appropriate parody, co-starring Billy Eichner.
Standing alone outside dressed as Chewbacca—and in sepia tone, of course—Corden mourns the loss of his Han Solo, Billy Eichner, who seems to miss him back. It is a bizarre musical number on the whole, but the best part may be Eichner’s enthusiastic, unsuccessful attempts to hit the notes. At least he can say that he’s tried.
