Hear Every Single Dumb Quip From Avengers: Age of Ultron in the Latest Honest Trailer

Avengers: Age of Ultron was fine, but it wasn’t spectacular. After Marvel’s The Avengers in 2012 and back-to-back success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy last year, Joss Whedon’s newest contribution to the dizzying Marvel cinematic universe couldn’t possibly live up to the hype. In their new Honest Trailer for the film, Screen Junkies skewer Ultron for being repetitive, confusing, and overstuffed with superheroes—in other words, “the movie equivalent of emptying out your entire toy box and smashing all your action figures into each other.”

To be fair, writer-director Joss Whedon’s task was not easy: Whedon had to pave the way for Captain America: Civil WarAvengers: Infinity War (parts one and two), Black Panther, and Thor: Ragnarok. The Honest Trailer presents the compelling theory that Whedon’s way of coping with the pressure was to come up with as many quips as possible. At least, that seems like the kindest explanation for groan-worthy bits of dialogue like “You and Banner better not be playing hide the zucchini.”
