Over the weekend, Chance the Rapper covered Kanye West’s “Family Business” at the Summer Ends music festival in Arizona, and even gave his new baby daughter a shout-out near the end: “Used to be Chance The Rapper, now I’m Chance The Daddy.” The song, which emphasizes family above all else, first appeared on 2004’s The College Dropout and features snippets of stories from Tarrey Torae, a contributor on the album.

Chance’s version is more lowkey than Kanye’s, with a smooth jazz feel to calm the crowd and tug at its collective heartstrings. He announced the birth of his daughter on Instagram about a week ago, posting a photo of a “Parent/Legal Guardian” bracelet and saying, “I wanted make a grandiose and poetic statement with her weight and size and DOB to show how much this means to me, but I think it’d be more appropriate and fatherly of me to just say thanks to those who helped us during this pregnancy, and ask for a little privacy in this time for me and my new family to get settled.” Maybe he’s taking a lesson from ultimate dad Kanye about how to be a family man.
