Stephen Colbert Harmonized, Fist-Pumped With Pearl Jam to “Rockin’ in the Free World”

Wednesday night, Pearl Jam gave their first live performance of 2015 alongside Stephen Colbert on the Late Show. The band properly shredded their 2013 single, “Mind Your Manners,” but the real musical highlight came later, when a gleeful Colbert joined them onstage to cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” Colbert is, of course, no musical novice: Earlier this year he proved his country singing chops, and also discussed his erstwhile Rolling Stones cover band with Howard Stern—before proving he can still move like Jagger.

Colbert’s moves came back out in full force during “Rockin’ in the Free World.” But his harmonies may have been his most notable biggest contribution. As Colbert said amid handshakes once the set was finished, “You don’t get to do that every day.”
