Here’s a Supercut of All the Potshots Psych Took at The Mentalist

To state the obvious, Psych and The Mentalist are very similar shows. The former is a breezy romp, the latter a dark procedural, but both star crime-fighting men whose uncanny powers of observation are often mistaken for clairvoyance. As such, Psych, which debuted two years before The Mentalist, featured many a joke about how a certain CBS drama had copped its premise.

Those digs have been deftly compiled in this supercut; stick around for the concluding barb, which nicely illustrates how Psych’s writers never took themselves, or The Mentalist’s suspiciously familiar conceit, too seriously.
