“Big and Beautiful” Hilariously Parodies Hypocritical Body Positivity Anthems

Still taken from the video.

A new musical parody from Pop Roulette has a simple message at its core: Your body is beautiful. That is, assuming you’re “Big and Beautiful” like the girls in the video. (“You know, size 4 through 6. TV big.”) If you happen to be skinny, maybe not so much. Like Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” the video is cheerfully styled in pastels that are almost as playful as the song’s lyrics. But it also carries an important note to those trying to write the next body positivity anthem: If your song can be summed up with the words, “bodies are gorgeous, but yours is bad,” you might be missing the point.
