Bon Iver Debuted Two New Songs in Their First Live Set in Nearly Three Years

For the past few years, the most pressing question regarding Justin Vernon’s lauded side project, Bon Iver, has been whether or not the band actually exists anymore. Vernon has gone back and forth on the issue: In May, he said the band was starting a “new cycle, new life,” while earlier this month he maintained that there would be no new album in the near future.

One thing Vernon was sure about in those interviews was that the band would headline the inaugural Eaux Claires Festival, marking their first live performance in about three years. The festival was organized and curated by Vernon in his Wisconsin hometown, and when the band took the stage on Saturday they played two new, unnamed songs to the reverent crowd. There’s no official recording of the performance, but some quality fan footage can be viewed below.
