The latest dispatch from Comic-Con is an epic new trailer for Zack Snyder’s grimdark opus, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The movie’s first trailer, to put it gently, was a tad gloomy, but here we get the full, brooding spectrum of Snyder’s ambition: lots of 9/11 imagery, lots of talk about moral crises, and countless shots of Batman and Superman engaging in intense staring contests.
Also included: our first glimpse of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who gets her own movie in 2017, and some extended time with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. There’s been some doubt about Eisenberg’s casting, but, in these teasers at least, the actor’s clipped, neurotic line delivery is a highlight. Batman v Superman is out March 2016.
