Comic-Con’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens Reel Is a Delightful Look Behind the Scenes

Princess Leia has some new threads.

Still from YouTube

We’ve seen two trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, both of which used John Williams’ beloved brass burst to heady effect. But on Friday, the film’s Comic-Con panel debuted a new, four-minute, behind-the-scenes video, and it’s fair to say the nostalgia is strong in this one.

The reel has a bit of everything: discussion of the movie’s practical effects (which look great), awed cast testimony about being on set, and the revelation that Simon Pegg is part of that cast, seemingly playing an alien creature. The video ends, naturally, with a spine-tingling shot of old and new friends seated in the Millennium Falcon. This movie needs to hurry up and take our money.
