Back in November, Starz announced that Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise would get a TV show, with Raimi writing and producing all 10 episodes of the first season. That show, Ash vs Evil Dead, now has its first trailer, and Bruce Campbell’s return as Ash Williams looks like gory, hilarious fun.
The “hilarious” part is especially comforting, given how the fourth film in the franchise, 2013’s Evil Dead, did away with the series’ trademark humor. Ash vs Evil Dead takes the opposite approach: Raimi seems to have piled on the jokes, with Campbell tossing out wry one-liners after every extremely bloody Deadite kill. The show premieres Oct. 31.
