Here’s Our First Look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Victorian-era Sherlock Holmes

PBS’s Sherlock may be thoroughly modern—and TV’s best bromance, as Slate’s Willa Paskin once described it—but now a new trailer launched at Comic-Con offers a look at the upcoming Sherlock Christmas special, which will take the detective back to his natural habitat: Victorian London. The black trench coat might not be an entirely new sight on Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock, but the detective’s classic hat and pipe are a welcome addition. Not to be outdone, Martin Freeman’s John Watson sports an impressive curled mustache.
