Watch Michael Fassbender Channel an Obsessive Genius in the Full Trailer for Steve Jobs

The first full-length trailer for Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic offers a glimpse of the movie’s pulsing central conflict: Jobs himself. “How come 10 times a day, I read, ‘Steve Jobs is a genius’?” Seth Rogen asks as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. “What do you do?”

“Musicians play their instruments,” Michael Fassbender replies as Jobs. “I play the orchestra.”

The trailer strings together several work-related clashes in which Jobs is depicted as demanding, complex, and often difficult. In a particularly heated moment, Jobs tells John Sculley, the former Apple CEO who ousted him (played by Jeff Daniels), that he’ll “sit center court and watch” as he ruins everything.

From The Verge:

According to the film’s writer, Aaron Sorkin … Steve Jobs will consist of roughly three half-hour scenes, tracking the press events for three of the executive’s biggest products: the Macintosh, NeXT, and the iMac.

The movie comes out Oct. 9.
