A Timelapse Video of Today’s Celebrations Outside of the Historic Stonewall Inn

Minutes after the SCOTUS decision to make same-sex marriage legal across all 50 states, crowds began to gather outside The Stonewall Inn, the iconic West Village bar where the gay rights movement was born.* A Slate timelapse video taken outside Stonewall this morning and afternoon shows an expanding throng of celebrators, selfie-takers, reporters, and curious passers-by. The bar, which was granted landmark status just days ago, will be the site of a rally later today.
