“This is not my department,” says Emily Blunt as a bewildered FBI agent in the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve-directed Sicario. (The trailer tells us that “Sicario” means “hitman” in Mexico.) Benicio Del Toro stars as the sicario himself, Alejandro, and the film takes place along the tumultuous U.S.-Mexico border. In this war, the trailer declares, “there are no borders between right and wrong.”
The movie premiered in competition at Cannes Film Festival last month, according to Variety, and opens Sept. 18 in select theaters, with wide release set for Sept. 25.
