When you leave for work, don’t worry about your pets getting bored—they’ve got a full day of shenanigans ahead of them, according to The Secret Life of Pets. The upcoming animated movie follows adorably rendered cats and dogs (plus at least one bird and possibly a fish) as they pass the time awaiting the return of their owners. But if the first trailer is any indication, they’re not missing their human companions too much: One chubby cat is too busy raiding the fridge, while a dachshund cleverly repurposes his owner’s stand mixer.
The movie comes from the directors, writers, and producers who made the hilariously bizarre Despicable Me, and features a star-studded cast of voice actors including Louis C.K., Ellie Kemper, Kevin Hart, and Hannibal Buress. We’ll have to wait until next summer to find out if the all-star team came up with something interesting for a fish to do all day, but it looks like it’ll be worth the wait.
