In what looks like a classic tale of “pride comes before the fall,” director Stephen Frears’ The Program will follow Lance Armstrong’s triumphant rise to superstardom after defeating cancer—and his scandalous downfall after he was exposed for using performance-enhancing drugs. Armstrong will be played by The Messenger star Ben Foster, while Bridesmaids’ Chris O’Dowd will play Irish sports journalist David Walsh, the man whom Armstrong dismissed as a “little troll” until the cyclist finally admitted to doping in 2013.

The movie still has no official U.S. release date, but given the director’s knack for biographical dramas, as seen in The Queen and Philomena, and a supporting cast that includes Dustin Hoffman, this seems like one to look out for come Oscar season.
