Cars Is a Lot Better as a Mad Max: Fury Road-Style Action Thriller

The Cars franchise is something of an anomaly for Pixar: Though the films charmed little kids, they didn’t garner the glowing reviews of the studio’s other efforts, and mostly failed to touch a nerve with older audiences. CineMash’s reimagining of the first film may change that—it turns the movie into an intense action extravaganza in the vein of Mad Max: Fury Road.

The idea works surprisingly well, mostly thanks to how both Cars and Fury Road feature sprawling desert vistas. Fingers crossed that Cars 3: Eternal, Shiny, and Chrome hits theaters soon.
