Here’s the First Trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs Biopic, Starring Michael Fassbender

The first teaser trailer for Steve Jobs, the new biopic about the Apple CEO, is light on detail, but heavy on style: Jobs (played in this incarnation by Michael Fassbender, in a major upgrade from the previous biopic’s Ashton Kutcher) stands on an empty stage, staring out as disembodied voices argue about Jobs’ rise and legacy. “No one sees the world the same way you do,” a voice says before the trailer cuts to raucous applause from a full house, cameras flashing.

The movie’s development faced complications, but resulted in a strong team, starting with director Danny Boyle and writer Aaron Sorkin. Seth Rogen will star as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, with Kate Winslet playing Joanna Hoffman (an original member of the Macintosh developer team), and Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The movie is scheduled to release Oct. 9, just in time for the start of Oscar season.
