Jeopardy Contestant Blurts Out Creepy Answer, Immediately Regrets His Decision

The pressure for Jeopardy contestants is real, and as in any stressful situation, it’s easy to say things you will later regret. Take this answer from recent contestant Tom.  It started, as these debacles often do, with an oddly worded prompt: “In common law, the age of this, signaling adulthood, is presumed to be 14 in boys and 12 in girls.” And then Tom blurted out his unfortunate response: “What is the age of consent?” Oh, Tom. Fortunately, his very wrong answer was enough to stump Alex Trebek, reducing his response to a curt “No” in lieu of one of his famous one-liners. (As in the video below.)
