Matthew McConaughey Made an Ad for a Local Video Store, and It’s Hilarious    

Though it started at the movies (Magic Mike, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street) and on the small screen (True Detective), the McConaissance seems to have moved, unexpectedly, into commercials. First, there were those weird Lincoln ads, and now, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, we have his great commercials for a local video store, Vulcan Video. The store is based in Austin, one of America’s hottest weirdness hotbeds and, unsurprisingly, McConaughey’s stomping ground. As McConaughey implores viewers to “Quit scrollin’, quit streamin’, start dreamin’,” he sounds right at home.
