Yesterday afternoon, in a blooper that was too good to be true, the Associated Press’ California broadcast wire briefly confused Robert Durst with Fred Durst, the one-time frontman of Limp Bizkit who sang “Killer in You.” The error, in a news item referring to the weapons charges that Louisiana brought against Robert Durst, was quickly amended with an all-time great AP correction:
In the second item of the California 10th NewsMinute sent March 16 to users of the state broadcast wire, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Robert Durst is a member of a band. He is a real estate heir; Fred Durst is the former frontman of Limp Bizkit.
Both Dursts may be fueled by roiling, psychopathic rage, but as far we we know, only one did it all for the nookie.
