The latest dispatch from the enlightened, elevated being some mortals call Björk is a “moving album cover.” It’s a confusing term for a simple concept: Take the physical album sleeve for Vulnicura, the singer’s latest record, and make it fully dimensional, so that it exists not just as an image but as an entire thematic world.
The result, on its face, is a really, really good music video for Vulnicura cut “Family.” But it’s also the latest visual innovation by an artist who’s spent years redefining what music videos can be, and it’s good to know her vision is as uncompromising, and stunning, as ever.
