How All Good Things Foreshadowed Robert Durst’s Bathroom Confession Scene

The clincher in last night’s final episode of The Jinx is a powerful moment of apparent self-incrimination: Robert Durst goes off to the bathroom with his microphone still on and acknowledges that he “killed them all, of course.” But the climax of Andrew Jarecki’s documentary series eerily repeats a scene in the 2010 film All Good Things, a fictional movie based on the Durst story that Jarecki also directed.

In the scene below, Kirsten Dunst discovers Ryan Gosling’s Durst–like character murmuring to himself in a bathroom. For anyone who watched last night’s finale, it’s an odd, chilling echo.
