Watch Amy Schumer Make Brilliant Stand-Up Out of Hollywood’s Insane Beauty Standards

Sketch comedy luminary Amy Schumer wrote the screenplay for and stars in the forthcoming romantic comedy Trainwreck, which, judging from the trailer, will be raunchy and hilarious. Fans of Inside Amy Schumer wouldn’t want anyone else delivering Schumer’s trademark deadpan lines as the protagonist of the movie, but Schumer says she originally assumed another actress would play the role. After all, thanks to insane Hollywood beauty standards, as Schumer explained recently on Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars, “In L.A. my arms register as legs.”

Schumer’s five-minute standup set features many other quips at the expense of Hollywood sexism, but this isn’t a serious political rant—Schumer is self-deprecating, risqué, and very funny as always. Come for the feminist message; stay for the off-color jokes about Bill Cosby, deaf people, and miscarriages.
