Jimmy Kimmel has been doing these “Mash Up Mondays” on his show for a few weeks now, but the series might as well have been created for this. Last night, Kenny and Warren G teamed up to perform the West Coast rapper-producer’s 1994 smash single with some much-needed soprano sax.
Seamlessly blending Warren’s G-funk with Kenny’s complete-lack-of-funk (Kenny takes the Nate Dogg parts), we now have the perfect rendition of this West Coast anthem to listen to in a bubble bath. Needless to say, the swagger of the biggest-selling instrumental musician of our era owns the stage.
