Jimmy Fallon Staged a Saved by the Bell Reunion in the Best Way Possible

Jimmy Fallon has been trying for years (years!) to reunite the cast of ’90s sitcom Saved by the Bell on his show, but he had little luck—until last night. With the Tonight Show in LA for the week, he finally got his wish: Reimagining himself as part of the show, Fallon brought back most of the cast, including Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), Kelly (Tiffani Thiessen), Jessie (Elizabeth Berkley), Slater (Mario Lopez), and even Principal Belding (Dennis Haskins). (Dustin Diamond and Lark Voorhies, who’ve had a difficult time since the show went off the air, were no-shows.) Even better, the cast all agreed to wear their old high school looks to step onto an incredibly accurate recreation of the show’s original Bayside High set.

And while the skit comes off a bit forced at times—I especially could’ve done without the “I’m so excited” callback—there’s a great jab at Berkley’s infamous Showgirls role as well as several nods to what made the show a cult classic. For those into such things, it’s probably the greatest ’90s nostalgia porn you’ll ever see.
