Jimmy Fallon Made a Glorious, Shot-by-Shot Remake of the Fresh Prince Title Sequence

When pondering the pantheon of TV title sequences, a few classics come to mind: True Blood’s Southern Gothic sprawl, say, or Twin Peaksmelancholy scenery, or The Simpsons’ couch gag. Also on that list, and perhaps at the top, is the opening to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

That opening got an amusing twist Monday night when Jimmy Fallon—whose show will be taped in L.A. for a week—aired a hilarious remake of Will Smith’s famous rap sequence. DJ Jazzy Jeff makes a surprise appearance and yes, there is a Carlton dance.
