My colleague Forrest Wickman aptly described Taylor Swift’s video for “Blank Space” as the Gone Girl of music videos, one that playfully sends up Swift’s supposedly “Cool Girl–like shape-shifting” and “femme fatale-like menace.”
So what if “Blank Space” really were a horror movie? Thanks to the many cinematic tropes deployed by video director Joseph Kahn, it’s not hard to imagine.
