People in Movies Telling Each Other to Snap Out of It and Pull Themselves Together

It’s a classic trope in movies: a character finds themselves mired in a state of panic, paranoia, or confusion, and another character shakes them out of their stupor. What’s interesting, though, is how uniformly these scenes play out—characters in movies rely on a handful of choice phrases to instill some calm and sanity in another.

In light of that, we’ve compiled our favorite scenes of movie characters telling people to “snap out of it,” “pull yourself together,” “get a hold of yourself,” and “calm down.” Enjoy.
