Update, Nov. 4, 2014: Beyoncé has officially announced a Beyoncé reissue, titled the Beyoncé Platinum Edition, to be released on Nov. 24. The four-disc box set will include two new songs, “7/11” and “Ring Off,” as well as a “Blow” remix from Pharrell and previously heard remixes from Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. It will also include a live DVD from her latest tour.

Original post: With Taylor Swift’s new album expected to end 2014’s platinum album drought with a mindboggling 1.3 million copies sold in its first week, it now looks like she might have some competition for biggest album of the year. Over the weekend, a photograph of what appeared to be a leaked memo describing a reissue of Beyoncé’s 2013 surprise album juggernaut appeared online. Titled BEYONCÉ Volume 2, it lists 10 new songs—including three that feature Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Nicki Minaj, respectively—as well as 11 new music videos. And it’s all supposedly scheduled to drop Nov. 14 on iTunes and Nov. 25 as a physical 4-disc edition.

As always, it’s best not to give these kinds of rumors too much credence without any corroborating official announcements. But in this case there’s a fair amount of evidence pointing toward the release of a new Beyoncé album at the end of next week.

To begin with, the “release confirmation” in the photograph includes logos for both Beyoncé’s label, Columbia Records, and her entertainment company, Parkwood Entertainment. Of course, anyone could have downloaded those icons from the Internet. What gives the photographed document more believability, however, is that, as Vulture notes, last month Beyoncé registered a song co-produced by Pharrell and The-Dream called “DONK” with ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), which appears on the leaked tracklist. She also registered a song called “Cherry,” which matches the name of the song on the tracklist featuring Rihanna.

Meanwhile, a four-disc Beyoncé album has popped up in the British version of Amazon for pre-order with a Nov. 24 release date listed. (Generally, albums are released in the U.K. a day before they’re out in the U.S.) The other two discs, according to the leaked release confirmation, will include footage from the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and her and Jay Z’s On the Run tour.

If the Beyoncé rumor is true, Nov. 25 could turn out to be an especially big day for female pop stars, since Rihanna is also rumored to be releasing a surprise new album that day. (Her recent return to Instagram and new Elle cover suggest that an announcement might be imminent.) If both rumors check out, four of the most popular women in music—Swift, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj—may very well close out a year that women have arguably dominated from its start.
