Every Simpsons Couch Gag at the Same Time

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch all 25 years and 554 episodes of Simpsons couch gags at the same time? I hadn’t either. But this YouTube user did.

Everyone will have their own observations, but here are mine. The first is that it sounds surprisingly creepy, like this György Ligeti piece used in 2001, the atonal crescendo from “A Day in the Life,” or a swarm of bees. The second is that it reveals that Simpsons couch gags have gotten longer, especially as the show has turned the couch gag over to directors like Don Hertzfeldt (whose gag seems to be the longest in Simpsons history). The third is that it’s weirdly hypnoti—ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.
