Watch the First Episode of Showtime’s The Affair

Showtime’s new infidelity drama, The Affair, doesn’t premiere until Sunday night at 10 p.m., but you can stream its first episode for free now. The show stars Dominic West (The Wire) as Noah, a teacher, and Ruth Wilson (Luther) as Alison, a waitress, in the Hamptons. The two cheat on their respective spouses, played by Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson, with each other.

Described as a Rashomon-style drama—whose haunting theme song Fiona Apple performs—the series, directed by Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights), explores the psychological aftermath of the affair from Noah and Alison’s alternate perspectives. You can stream the series premiere above, via YouTube, and check back later this week for a review of the show from Slate’s TV critic Willa Paskin.
