Sex scenes have a longer history than you may realize—and they have evolved in fascinating and complicated ways. Now director Joe Carnahan has offered fans a look at just how awkward the whole process looks in a mildly NSFW behind-the-scenes clip of sex-scene veteran Patrick Wilson and model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker faking it for the cameras—and crew—on the set of Stretch.
As you can imagine, there’s plenty of uncomfortable small talk (“No, you’re good. I was just lifting … it,” Decker says) and spray-on sweat between the simulated copulation. At one point Wilson’s emphatic oh god’s prompt a profane compliment from Carnahan as Rick James’ “You and I” plays in the background. What could be sexier?
