Berlin-based singer Jonathan Kluth uses a strange instrument in his video for “Squares”: he plays the door, roof, and dashboard of his car to provide the track’s percussive backbone.
It's an unusual but rewarding choice. “Squares” is a lovely song, one that reaches an uplifting crescendo with the help of some more conventional accompaniment—an acoustic guitar and a violin played pizzicato. The cut is off Kluth’s debut album, Ophelia.
