Lena Dunham Performing Sia’s “Chandelier” Is One of the Weirder Things You’ll See Today

Lena Dunham's "Chandelier" performance is a head-scratcher.

Still from YouTube

If you’ve never experienced a Sia concert, there’s one thing to know: Sia prefers to avoid the spotlight. So much so, in fact, that for her recent performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she replicated her spectacular video for “Chandelier” by singing in a dark corner with her back to the audience, allowing 11-year-old dance prodigy Maddie Ziegler to once again steal the show.

But on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Sia did something even more oddball: This time, she sings “Chandelier” with her head buried in a pillow (note the microphone stand stuck through it) while none other than Lena Dunham—in a more unkempt version of the blonde wig she donned on Girls last season—prances around making exaggerated faces, stomping on paintings, and playing with toilet paper. Needless to say, it’s not as powerful as the video Sia made with Ziegler. But it is weird.
