As advertised, here is a photo of Nicolas Cage wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with his own face. Cage apparently wore the T-shirt to a recent Guns N’ Roses concert, which he attended along with Andrew Dice Clay.
In addition to being an inspired bit of surreality like just about anything featuring Nicolas Cage’s face, I would like to argue that this is an important development for the field of Nicolas Cage Studies. For years, Cage-ologists have pondered (including at length, in the pages of Slate) whether the actor was self-aware about his own status as a walking meme. Now here, at last, is proof: Even if he wasn’t engaging in some sort of elaborate performance art project back when he showed up for The Wicker Man, he apparently is now. My only remaining question is: Does he sleep on a Nicolas Cage pillow?
