We’ve now heard a handful of songs from Lana Del Rey’s forthcoming album, Ultraviolence—enough to know that the record is a mature and exciting development of the singer’s retro sound.

Her latest song, “Brooklyn Baby,” probably isn’t the best cut on the album: it’s lacking one of those big, chewy vocal hooks that uplift so much of her work, and its subdued languor sometimes gets tedious. But the melody is lovely, and Del Rey still doesn’t sound like anyone else. You can listen to the track below; Ultraviolence is out June 17.
