Stabilizing a Few Camera Shots Makes the Star Trek Crew Look Utterly Ridiculous

The Star Trek shows used all sorts of little tricks to skirt production costs. One in particular will be familiar to any Trekkie: to simulate the ship being hit or otherwise disturbed, the actors would shimmy in their seats or literally hurl themselves across the room while the camera shook, yielding a serviceable illusion of chaos on board.

Stabilizing the camera, of course, makes those same scenes entirely ridiculous: dignified thespians like Patrick Stewart are seen writhing in impromptu panic and convulsing across command modules. Redditors have combined some of these stabilized-camera shots to make a hilarious video. Even better, the clip is set to "Turn Down For What," which has a music video that will further satisfy any cravings you have for people flailing about.
