Watch a Fantastic Montage of Visual Effects Milestones in Film

Moving from Eadweard Muybridge’s groundbreaking “Horse in Motion” films of the late 19th century to Fritz Lang’s impressive Metropolis to Alfonso Cuarón’s 2013 film Gravity, this fantastic homage to visual effects milestones in the movies is a terrific tribute to cinematic ingenuity.

Editor Jim Casey has crafted a nifty, fast-paced video and complemented it nicely with the Final Fantasy VIII choral piece “Liberi Fatali.” Spanning more than a century’s worth of technological advances, it’s a fun way for a movie lover to spend three minutes.
