Another Reason We Love ’90s Alt-Rock

From the Breeders to Pearl Jam, the ’90s were a golden age for all kinds of so-called “alternative rock.” And Canadian comedian Dave Shumka has one idea why: the vocal hook.

In a CBC Music supercut, he collected the vocal hooks from some of the biggest ’90s alt-rock songs. It’s a telling reminder that we were all suckers for the “ooh-oohs,” “na-nah-nas,” and “whoa-ohs.”
