The Simpsons LEGO Episode Looks Surprisingly Fascinating

Existential questions abound, apparently, in the Simpsons LEGO episode.

LEGO has been practically inescapable the last few months, thanks mostly to The LEGO Movie. And most Simpsons fans have probably seen the top-dollar LEGO collector’s edition of the cartoon family that was released a few months back, plus the frequent reminders that a LEGO-themed episode of the Matt Groening mainstay was coming soon.

The episode airs Sunday, and the trailer is below. Happily, it appears that, as with the surprisingly charming LEGO Movie, the episode will be better—or, at the very least, more interesting—than many of us initially expected. It’s slightly off-kilter, sharply animated, and fun:
