Watch the First Trailer for the Upcoming Elliott Smith Documentary

Heaven Adores You, the Kickstarter-funded documentary about Elliott Smith, premieres next week at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Today, director Nickolas Rossi and producer Kevin Moyer released a trailer, which you can watch above.

As Pitchfork notes, Moyer says the movie is the “first project of its kind to be allowed to use Smith's music.” Smith’s sister Ashley participated, as did many of Smith’s former bandmates and collaborators. For now, the only screenings listed are in San Francisco and Toronto, but here’s hoping it becomes more widely available soon.
