Troy Daniels made his NBA debut on March 5. Before that, the 22 year-old toiled in the D-League, where he set the record for three-pointers made in a season. Those long-distance shooting skills came in handy last night, when the rookie’s shot—a three-pointer launched after a loose-ball scramble with 11 seconds left in overtime—secured his Houston Rockets a victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Houston desperately needed the win: they were down 0-2 against the Trail Blazers, and no team has come back from an 0-3 series deficit. The teams will play again tomorrow night in Portland.
