Heal Your Heartbreak With This Alternate How I Met Your Mother Ending

In an alternate universe, Ted Mosby ends his journey on a train platform with his future wife.

Monday's How I Met Your Mother finale was, to put it lightly, controversial. Some wept. Some cheered. Reaction was split between those who thought the nine-season show's conclusion was a rushed and gimmicky disaster, and those who thought the episode held true to the series' most fundamental and mature themes.

For the more morose fans, take heart: YouTube user Ricardo J Dylan has taken matters into his own hands and delivered the finale you wanted. In this alternate ending, Ted sees the yellow umbrella, approaches the beauty underneath it, engages in endearing banter, shares a look of infatuated revelation with one Tracy McConnell, then a train whizzes by and—cut to black. No premature death, no splintering of the gang, no blue horn under Robin's window. It's almost like all your heartbreak never happened.
