Postmodern Jukebox, the folks behind that jazzy rendition of “Sweet Child o’ Mine” have tackled a more recent hit, Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse.”
They perform it in a “gothic R&B/James Bond” style. And even if you’re a fan of Max Martin and Dr. Luke’s catchy minimalist production on the Perry version, or miss Juicy J’s charismatic goofiness, you will likely appreciate the sultry vocals here from singer Ashley Stroud. They are certainly a far cry from Perry’s “yelp of a voice.” Here’s hoping that Stroud gets to belt an actual 007 theme somewhere down the line.
