“Drunk in Love” Gets an All-Emoji Music Video

In the two months since Beyoncé invaded America by surfbort, “Drunk in Love” seems to have become something close to the Internet’s favorite song. It may have started with that one word, but since Beyoncé’s release we’ve seen everything from Dunkin Donuts-themed covers to remixes from a half dozen of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B.

But this latest video isn’t quite like anything I’ve seen before. Sure, we’ve seen emoji versions of everything from “Ni**as in Paris” to Lawrence of Arabia, and Katy Perry used emojis for her lyric video for “Roar,” but neither of those brought emojis to life in quite this way. Combine those with the style of Oneohtrix Point Never’s “Boring Angel” video from December, and you’ll get something very close to this from Vimeo user Jesse Hill. Call it “Drunk in Emojis.”
